Solitary Poems SACD & Dolby Atmos release

The Solitary Poems for Soprano Saxophone project is a creative response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its consequent obliteration of livelihoods for freelance musicians. It presents 23 world premiere recordings of new solo pieces dedicated to Anders Paulsson.

SOLITARY POEMS GRANDE FINALE

SOPRANSAXOFONISTEN Anders Paulsson har under många år haft en stor internationell karriär med sitt ovanliga soloinstrument och turnerat över hela världen. Det satte pandemin stopp för, men istället för att slå sig till ro lade Anders ut beställningar på nya verk av en rad svenska och utländska tonsättare och bad dem skriva solostycken för honom och hans instrument. Det blev ett helt nytt projekt: Solitary Poems for Soprano Saxophone 32 kompositörer svarade och den 20 november 2021 spelade Paulsson en konsert i Kungsholms kyrka med Solitary Poem #1-14. På denna konsert i Sofia Kyrka den 3 December avslutas projektet genom att Anders spelar Solitary Poem #15-32. Skivbolaget BIS planerar att ge ut sitt urval av dessa kompositioner på en Super Audio CD i oktober 2023.
